The Amphibious Car

The Gibbs Aquada is not the first amphibious car, they have in fact been around since the 1960′s. The problem with most amphibious vehicles has been that they move very slowly on the water. This is not an issue with the Gibbs Aquada, it provides sports car style performance on water and on land. 35A5509CC3C04783BA5E312D920E0BC2 Appoximately one hundred million dollars has been spent on the development of the vehicle and over sixty patents are pending. Every part of this amphibious car consists of new and innovative technology.
The body shape of the car is perhaps one of its most outstanding features, in order to allow it to function well on both land and water it is aerodynamic and hydrodynamic. Well performing road vehicles and well performing water vehicles often require features that are opposite in nature. Even the way that weight is distributed during travel are not the same. So developing a vehicle that can provide speed and functionality in the water and on land is definitely an amazing thing!
